We’re proud to share that MEJOR Technologies was recently featured in Quote, one of the leading business magazines in the Netherlands, highlighting our mission to fight and prevent wildfires through innovative technology.


From Colleagues to Co-Founders

The article traces our journey from a shared ambition between co-founders Melvin Sieben and Joris Kohl van Wijngaarden, who met while working at Alfen, to launching MEJOR Technologies in response to the devastating wildfires in Australia. As Melvin says, “We don’t claim we can prevent wildfires altogether—nature will always find a way—but we can reduce their impact.”


CHRIS and LUCI: Wildfire Technology

MEJOR now offers two wildfire management solutions:

Is a real-time mapping tool that processes live drone imagery to show the full spread of an active fire, helping emergency services quickly identify fire fronts, safe access routes, and danger zones. The product is named in memory of one of MEJOR’s first employees, who sadly passed away from cancer.

Uses satellite data and machine learning to assess wildfire risk for any location, helping land managers make proactive decisions, like where to perform controlled burns or reinforce vulnerable areas. before a wildfire would occur, thus supporting wildfire prevention efforts.


Funding, Growth and the Road Ahead

MEJOR Technologies is currently busy with several projects, from being in talks with the government in Bulgaria to demoing their solutions with several companies. With support from early angel investors and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, we’re now raising new funding to scale. As Joris notes, “Our ideas are bubbling—we’re just getting started.”
